VIDEO OTOSCOPY SYSTEM

Analog Components

The video / analog components described in these CSIM-linked paragraphs are fundamental to the implementation of a video otoscopy system in a hearing health practice. Analog VO systems may be categorized as Basic; (i.e. on-line video otoscopy only as in "portable" VO systems) and Enhanced VO with options for freeze-frame, multiple hard copy image reproductions, image formatting and oto-macroscopy. Cameras, amplifiers, VCRs and video monitors used in VO are, at time of writing, analog devices. Miiature digital cameras are presently available but cost-prohibitive for hearing health practice application. The image format/video printer is a hybrid, using both analog and digital components.
