Plate 30: Aero-Otitis, (The Blocked Ear; intratympanic hemorrhage) Severe alteration in air pressure may produce an intratympanic hemorrhage. This is seen otoscopically as a bluish translucence through the drum. The malleus handle and short process are injected. Isolated hemorrhages in the drum itself may also accompany this picture.
